The warm-hearted tale of Mrs. Ethel Savage, a fabulously wealthy and energetically charitable widow. When she begins to give away much of the family’s wealth, her three greedy step-children commit her to a mental sanitarium. Here she meets a variety of quirky and endearing characters who need exactly what she can give them. Despite the revelations about these inmates’ past lives, they are charming and eventually all appear more sane than those outside the walls of the institution.
