Inspiration for the West Side Story poster design:

West Side Story is an American musical adaptation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Set in New York City in the 1950’s, the story explores the rivalry between two teenage street gangs – a white working-class group called the Jets and the Sharks from Puerto Rico. Violence ensues when Tony, one of the Jets, falls in love with Maria, the sister of Bernardo, the leader of the Sharks.
